Pat Stevens’ Hot Weather Tips pATRICIA STEVENS, formerly a suc- ■ cessful model and now proprietress of WGN-TV’s Charm Salon, here offers TV GUIDE’S feminine readers some hot weather advice. Miss Stevens, a recog¬ nized authority on modeling and charm, is seen on Channel 9 at 12:45 PM, Mon¬ days, Wednesdays and Fridays. For that refreshed feeling during the punishing summer days ahead, try the following suggestions: 1. Keep creams, lotions and colognes in the refrigerator to provide a cool pick-up on a hot day. 2. When traveling, keep your makeup in insulated ice cream bags to prevent them from melting. 3. Solid colognes applied frequently during the day make you feel and ap¬ pear band-box fresh. 4. Shampoo your hair more frequently during hot weather and, for that luxury touch, add a few drops of cologne to the final rinse water. 5. Talcum powder is your best friend on hot, humid days. Dust the insides of gloves, lingerie and shoes with it often. 6. Dunking hands in ice water after polish is semi-dry is a quick way to harden nail enamel on a hot day. 7. A tea bag dunked once or twice in ice water makes an excellent summer astringent. A-15
