These characters, some 800 in all- enough to stock a modest-size com¬ munity—were the actors and actresses who flocked to the Grand Ballroom of New York’s Waldorf-Astoria Hotel to cavort in costumes they had worn in Kraft shows. Despite its size, the Come-As-You- Were celebration, second of its kind, did not draw all who have appeared in the hour-long dramas. With a staggering 392 plays chalked up on the eve of the party, Kraft Theater could boast a roster of actors num¬ bering into the thousands.
