Please address all letters to Regional Editor—TV Guide, 731 S. Plymouth Ct„ Chicago 5, III. Wanted: A Dragnet Fan Club I would like to join a fan club for Jack Webb and Ben Alexander. If any of your readers know of one would you have them write me?— Paul Konrath, 845 South Stone Ave., La Grange, 111. Really a Bashful Bachelor I was very thrilled to see the TV wed¬ ding of Mr. Peepers. It was so real that I began to wonder whether Pat Benoit and Wally Cox are actually going to be married. If not, to whom are they mar¬ ried in real life?— Karen Kuth, Delavan, Wis. (They both are married in real life, but not to each other. Pat is married to Parton Swift, Jr. and Wally recently eloped with actress Marilyn Gennaro. — Ed.) Where Did He Go? Our favorite TV star is Julius La Rosa. We don’t ever see him on TV any more and were wondering if he’s coming back on? Where can we write him?— Marilyn Nicolini, Mishawaka, Ind. (He’ll be back when sponsored. Write him ■c/o CBS, 485 Madison Ave., New York 22, N. Y. You can see him at Chicago’s Soldier’s Field, July 24 during “Star Night” along with many other TV celebrities. — Ed.) Just Like a Bird While I was watching Jo Stafford on TV it occurred to me that she might be just doing pantomimes to her record¬ ings. Is this correct or does she actually sing?— Linda Swidow, Chicago, III. (Jo’s program is done “live” and she actually sings. — Ed.) Benoit He’s Still Spinning Could you please find out what has happened to disc jockey Bill Anson? He is a very popular disc jockey in Chicago and since he left WENR we have heard nothing about him. We always enjoyed listening to him.— Mrs. Margaret Murphy, Chicago, III. (Bill spins platters weekdays from 2:00 till 4:30 PM on radio station WAIT. He is now considering a TV song show. — Ed.) Kindled Over Firestone It is appalling to note that the dictates of public taste forces NBC to substitute Sid Caesar’s antics for such a fine pro¬ gram as The Voice of Firestone. While laughter is surely a part of our heritage, so also is fine music. There are too few programs that offer music of as fine a quality as Firestone does.— Mrs. Hugh B. Marsh, Lake Bluff, III. (The Voice of Firestone has been picked up by the ABC network and will be seen on WBKB Mondays at 7:30 PM. — Ed.) Maybe He’s Camera Shy I enjoy watching The Plainclothesman every Sunday eve¬ ning, but I was wondering why they don’t ever show the lieutenant’s face. I think it would be much better if we got to see him, at least, occasionally.— Bernice Mackaitis, Calumet City, III. (Ken Lynch plays the lieutenant. He is not shown because he is represented by the camera. Therefore, you get the effect of seeing things exactly as he does. — Ed.)
