Targeted at tykes, it features old-time comedy films. The show is emceed by a cheerful, double-chinned newcomer to Rock¬ ford, Rod MacDonald. Rod created the program at station WTMV in Madison, Wis., where it had a year’s run. For his age (28) Rod has an im¬ pressive show business record. He’s worked in radio and television as a writer, producer, director and actor. He’s also musically talented and once headed up a swing band known as the “Dixie Bash.” Local Boy: A local Rockford youth, Ted Johnson, will be seen in “Cry Wolf,” an upcoming episode in WREX-TV’s Wild Bill Hickok series (Wednesdays, 5:30 P.M.) Ted was one of the win¬ ners in a recent national contest. His prizes included a trip to Hollywood and and an appearance with Guy Madison. Sports: Saturday’s Big 10 TV basket¬ ball tilt shapes up a thriller. It pits two first-division teams, Illinois and Minnesota, against each other.
