BETTY FURNESS steps out of her pitchwoman's role for Studio One on Apr. 18, to star in the show's presentation of "Affairs of State." * * * LOUIS JOURDAN the hottest prospect to be permanent host for Devil's Theater , upcoming late-night show on ABC. He'd be cast as the devil . . . Change-about: the Library of Congress, to which producers often turn in doing their research, has requested a copy of DAVY CROCKETT'S address to Congress from a Disneyland show. * * * Omnibus talking over plans to do a full-scale version of "The Iliad," based on the original Homeric epic . . . Omnibus is the first regular show to vacation, taking off after the Sunday, Apr. 10 telecast . . . Ethel and Albert may return as summer replace¬ ment for December Bride . PEG LYNCH and ALAN BUNCE would co-star. . * * * TED MACK, long absent from TV, will be a busy man again soon. A new daytime variety show, Ted Mack's Matinee, starts Monday, Apr. 4 on NBC. TED is also planning Mack's International Show , in which he will spotlight foreign talent. And he still hopes to re¬ vive Original Amateur Hour for NBC on Sunday afternoons. PAUL GREGORY, legitimate stage producer, planning a TV drama¬ tic series to be titled Paul Gregory Theater . . . JUNE TAYLOR dancers from The Jackie Gleason Show slated for a nationwide tour in the fall. They'll return to New York each Saturday night for their TV stint. . . Appointment with Adventure is the new title of the show that replaces father Knows Best~ Sunday, Apr. 3 . . .
