Text recognition is never 100% accurate. Many parts of the scanned page may not be reflected in the OCR text output, including: images, page layout, certain fonts or handwriting.

Carole and Loi* windowshop for props at trick store . . . then confer with Steve. Two lovely young girls have made a major league television team—Steve Allen’s Tonight —without spending a day in the “minors.” And they’re in one of the tougher branches of the business, the writing end. The girls are Lois Balk and Carole Honig, both 21, both just out of New York’s Barnard College, and they’re TV’s youngest full-time staff writers. In school, they created some comedy routines for Allen, who used them and hired the girls when his show went on NBC network last fall. Now they dream up gag bits using special props, and write skits for guests. 4 Gag writers Honig, left, and Balk chuckle over a giant toothbrush used on Tonight. They still get a kick from seeing their names on show's credit card, even if the type is small. 17
