EDDIE ALBERT and VIVIAN BLAINE will co-star. * * * CBS has set three of the five shows moving into the DOUGLAS EDWARDS news time next season. Cochise will take over the Wed¬ nesday night period, Sergeant Pr eston ~of the Mountles goes in on Thursdays and My Friend Flfcka on Fridays. A new ED WYNN program, featuring the comedian's Rube Goldberg-type inventions: will probably go either Mondays or Tuesdays. * * * CLIFF NORTON now set to play the bus driver in SID CAESAR's summer replacement show, One-Nlghter . PHIL FOSTER will play the manager of the touring orchestra. BARBARA NICHOLS also joining the cast . . . Person to Person producers JOHN AARON and JESSE ZOUSMER planning a once-a-month "spectacular" for kid viewers next fall. * * * With the movie studios moving into the hour-long drama field next fall, TV's playwrights feel their top fees may hike from the present $2000 - $3000 up to $7000. That's one reason why GORE VIDAL is reluctant to sign an exclusive deal with CBS now at present rates . . . Author MERLE MILLER expected to be the next big-name writer to move into television. * * * ABC planning a country-music amateur hour for Tues¬ day nights this summer, produced live from Springfield, Mo., by the people who do ABC's successful Ozark Jubi ¬ lee . . . And Jubilee expands to 90 minutes for the summer, starting Saturday night, July 2. * * * JACK ( Morning Show ) PAAR may take on a once-weekly musical variety show for C6S this summer ... It looks now as though Elgin Hour will vacate this summer, after June 14. . . CYRIL RItCHARD tentatively set as host for ABC's upcoming Devil's Theater, a role originally announced for LOUIS JOURDAlT * * * Sponsor of the canceled Mr. Peepers show may replace it with the new Mr. Tutt telefilm series, based on the famous magazine stories and starring WALTER BRENNAN. .
