Duggan Hamilton TV GUIDE will laun(;h a star-studded, nine-day Television Jamboree at Park Forest, Ill., during the month of Sep¬ tember. This jamboree is the first of its kind ever conducted by a national magazine. A parade of local television person¬ alities, starting in Chicago Heights and ■ terminating at Park Forest, kicks off H the gala celebration on Thursday, Sept. 15. Featured throughout the nine-day stand will be numerous contests, top- notch variety shows and many other festivities. Slated for opening night is colorful Tom Duggan who will head up a mu¬ sical variety show, featuring noted local celebrities. The following night, Friday, Sept. 16, culinary artist Francois Pope steps into the spotlight to present a cooking show spectacle. Monday, Sept. 19, brings another ex¬ travaganza with Kay Westfall and Pa¬ tricia Vance presenting a fashion show featuring a colorful array of the latest fall creations. Audition’s Bill Hamilton moves into Park Forest Thursday, Sept. 22, with an all-star review. Chicagxj* Chicago Dateline The grand climax to the Television Jamboree will be a remote telecast di¬ rectly from the Park Forest shopping plaza on Friday, Sept. 23. It is slated to be aired via Ch. 9, 3 to 4 P.M. The public is invited. NBC execs in Chicago have indicated that the local outlet will televise the World Series in color if a New York team captures the pennant. This will be another first for color TV. Bowling has become big business on the local scene. Ch. 2 launches two more bowling shows, Monday, Sept. 12, and Wednesday, Sept. 14, bringing the total weekly offering to three for the station. The Bowling Clinic, switching station affiliations, bows on Monday in the 11 to 11:30 P.M. slot. Sam Wein¬ stein will conduct the show, assisted by Classic star Paul Krumske. On Wed¬ nesday (11 to 12 Mid.) will be The Bowlers Open. The stars will be teamed up with handicap bowlers with a prize list totaling $19,000 for the winners.
