As the dust settles, an entire new cast and a new school emerge from the ruins—and in the opinion of producer Larry Berns, it’s high time. The cast and the locale had been the same since 1948, when Berns put the show on radio. In the years that followed, as Connie Brooks, B.A., Eve Arden became the best-known—and the best paid—schoolteacher in the United States.
