Philadelphia Edition Philadelphia Dateline Preston Foster returns to his home town of Pitman, N.J., with quite a flourish. On the Fourth of July he’ll participate in Pitman’s 50th anniversary parade, riding a replica of his tugboat, The Cheryl Ann, (featured in his TV Waterjront series, Ch. 10, Sunday, 6:30 P.M.). He’ll also take part in the July 4 festivities in Fairmount Park. X)h. 3 will repeat its Freedoms Founda¬ tion award-winning show, “The Day of Deliverance,” on Sunday, July 3. With Harry K. Smith narrating, the 3-3:30 P.M. stanza will be an “all-camera” presentation—no actors, no mechanical devices, just four cameras—^taking the viewer on a tour of Independence Hall. JFuly 4 will see several major changes in the Ch. 6 program listings: Romper Room moves from 10 A.M. to the 8:30- 9:30 A.M. daily position; Morning The¬ ater bows in from 9:30-11 A.M.; Fa¬ vorite Theater takes over the 11 A.M.- noon slot; Lunchtime Theater will be seen from noon to 12:30 P.M. From 12:30-1:50 P.M. Mary Dorr will play the hostess of a feature film program. This Is Hollywood, and, at 2:30-3 P.M., Musical Honeymoon, featuring Larry Ferrari, Johnny Thompson, Nancy Lew¬ is and Mary Carlile, bows in. John Daly and the News, debuts at 7:15 P.M. With Jack Pyle back at Ch. 3 handling the nightly 11:10 P.M. Sports Spot, Alan Scott is getting back to a normal work schedule. Scott had a full two weeks subbing for Pyle at 11:10 P.M. while Jack “vacationed” with the Phil¬ lies. Alan returned to the cameras at 9 A.M. for his Let Scott Do It program. Televiewers will see a lot of Inde¬ pendence Hall on Sunday, July 3. The CBS-TV network will originate it Let’s Take a Trip show from there, 5:30-6 P.M. This is carried by Ch. 10. Teen-age fans will probably be more than sli^tly disturbed when they learn that localite Dick Lee, now fea¬ tured male vocalist on the NBC-TV network Ted Mack Show (Ch. 3, 3-3:30 P.M.) was quietly married last week. And speaking of local vocaUsts, Vince Carson, currently featured on the Grady and Hurst Showroom, Ch. 3, Saturday, 6:30 P.M., will be sharing the bill with one of the show business “greats,” Sophie Tucker, when he plays a club date in Atlantic City in July.
