He stated that Management did eo through the necessary mechanics of getting the producer contracts amended so that they will not be at variance with the Decree. Mr. Framer moved that, WREREAS a Final Decree has been entered in the case of U.S. ¥. Paramount et al., against United Artists Corporation in the U.S. District Court, in the Souther District of New York, xhich Decree contains many provisions which seriously affect the corvoration's right to openly and freely market its pictures for distribution in the United States of America, | NOW, THEREFORE, > Be it RESOLVED that counsel be directed to take all necessary steps to perfect an Appeal from each and every part of said Decree which affects the rights of United Artists Corporation. Mr. Cole seconded the motion. After considerable discussion the motion was carried. The Chairman stated that meetings would be held with all salesmen breaking them down in groups and giving them detailed instructions. 4. There was then distrituted to the directors a statement showing the percentage to gross film rentals of expenses and a comparison with standard terms as well as a schetule showing standard terms for features. } 5. SUSAN PETERS PICTURE The Chairman stated that in comnection with the proposed deal for a Susan Peters picture, there is not the slightest enttmeiasm on the part of our Sales Department and he therefore widhed to withdraw this ite: from the Agenda.
