2 oe RESOLVED, that the Corporation reisburse to Mary Pickford the sum of Twenty-Two Thousand Five Hundred ($22,800.) Dollars as reimbursement to her for payments made by her to the law firm of ยป Bodine & Stokes in the amounts of Fifteen Thousand ($15,000.) Dollars on July 27, 1944, Three Thousand Seven Hundred Fifty ($3,750.) Dollars on November 1, 1945, and Three Thousand Seven Hundred Fifty ($3,750.) Dollars on Jenuary 6, 1947, inasmmch as these sums were moneys paid by Miss Pickford to said counsel for legal services rendered for the benefit of United Artists Corporation. Mr. Schwartz seconded the motion and it was carried. Mr. Weisman moved: RESOLVED, that this Corporation does hereby acknowledge that there is no indebtedness owing from Mies Pickford to United Artists or any of its subsidiaries in connection with the trip to Burope made by Mies Pickford in 1946 on behalf of the company. Mr. Schwartz seconded the motion and it was carried. 12. ENGLAND BOOKINGS The Chairman stated that he received a memorandum from Mr. Sears concerning the refusal of Rank circuits to book our product and urging that someone be sent to England immediately. Mr. Sears sent a cable to Mr. Rank, which cable was read at the meeting. At this point, Mr. Sears was invited to come to the meeting. He explained that the Rank circuits are giving more playing time to Bagle-Lion and to Universal and not booking our product and that Mr. Davis has refused the last eight pictures and, although we have had similar problems during the past year amd have succeeded in getting playing time from time to time, anything we have done has just been on a temporary basis. Our attorney, Mr. Welsford of Slaughter and May, could not suggest anything that we could do. There was considerable discussion on this matter. 13.
