Harry Hasso. Regisseur, Kameramann und sehr ernst zu nehmender Tonfilmtechniker, kommt von der Technik, begann schon als Neunzehnjähriger als Regieassistent bei C.-B.-Film und B. A. F. A. G. Heidelberg und Worms a. Rh. Dann gründete er den Harnt--Hasso-Film Heidelberg und Luxembourg ville, ging als Kameramann und Regisseur zum Pfalzfilm Ludwigshafen a. Rh. und Martin-John-Film Mannheim, gründete den Rhenus-film Mannheim, kam dann als Regisseur und Kameramann zur Emelka und übernahm 1927 die Vertretung der Firma in Berlin. ^ ährend seiner Berliner Tätigkeit wurden unter seiner Mitarbeit insgesamt 217 Filme hergestellt, darunter 147 unter seiner Regie. Seine letzte Arbeit war der Film „96 Prozent" — ein hundertprozentiger Tonfilm auf Fireless Movieton in Finnland.
Harry Hasso sucht dem Filmproblem aber auch noch von einer anderen, der wissenschaftlichen Seite her beizukommen. Er hat unter dem Namen „Harr\' Hasso Triasplastikfilm" ein neues stereoskopisches Filmverfahren fertiggestellt, ferner ein neues Farbfilmsystem Harry Hasso zur rein individuellen Farbenbestimmung nach der Aufnahme, einen Focusvorsatz zur Belebung der Spitzenlichter, ein neues Breitfilmsystem, ein Tonaufnahmesystem mit Ultratonaufzeichnung, zwei Intensitätsverfahren zum Lmkopieren der verschiedenen Lichttonsysteme und schließlich eine Kamera zur Aufnahme von Farbfilm zur Erzielung einer doppelten Expositionszeit bei normalem Aufnahmeverhältnis.
Harry Hasso, film director, cameraman and highly skilled talking film technician, was originally an engineer, and began his film cai'eer at the age of nineteen as assistant director with C. B. Film and B. A. F. A. G., at Heidelberg and Worms a. Rh. Subsequently he founded the Harr\" Hasso Film Company in Heidelberg and Luxembourg ville, joined as cameraman and director the Pfalzfilm at Ludwigshafen a. Rh. and the Martin John Film Company at Mannheim, founded the Rhenus Film Company in Mannheim, then went to the Emelka as director and cameraman, and finally, in 1927, took over the representation of that concem in Berlin. In Berlin he filmed for Emelka-Eku, Excentricfilm, K. S. Film, Prometheus, Albö and L^fa, and was associated in the production of a total of 217 films, 147 of which were directed by him. His latest work is "96%", an all-talking Fireless Movietone film produced in Finland.
Harry Hasso has also been engaged in scientific research in connection with the screen. Länder the name of the "Harry Hasso Triasplastikfilm"' he has worked out a new stereoscopic film process and a colour film System for the purely individual detennination of colour after f ilming. He has further invented a focussing device for the intensification of the Spotlight, also a new wide screen System, an ultra sound recording System, two intensifying processes for copying the various sound Systems and, finally, a Camera for colour filming with double exposure time under normal photographing conditions.
