In the latter play she created the part of a coloured girl. a type of part of which she has since made a specialitv on the screen. and for which she is particularly well fitted by reason of her amazing knowletlge of foreign langiiages: she sjjeaks English. French. German. Russian and Italian with eqiial fluency. In the Gainsborough production "Balaclava " she appeared a# a Russian girl: in the British and Dominion film Version of olves" as an Eskimo girl: and in "The Call of the Sea ". producedat the Twickenham Studios, as aSpanisliGirl. Betty Bolton is also the fortunate possesor of a beautiful contralto singing voice. which. combined with her remarkable histrionic talent and linguistic accomplishments. represents an ideal equipment for the talking screen. She is also in great demand among gramophone companies and has so far made records for no fewer than five different concerns. In addition. she has scored many successes as a cabaret performer at the Imperial Hotel.
