She niade her professional debut in 1926 in pantomime, and later played leading röles on tour for three years. Her niost important parts include Anne in "The Dover Road", Mary Shelton in "The Wrecker". Penelope Moon in "Billeted", Mary Frampton in "The Moving Finger", Gladys Brabazon in "Gelting Mother Married" and Joan Ripley in "Husbands are a Problem"'. Next came an important part in "The Dishonoured Lady" at the Playhouse Theatre, followed by others in the phenomenally successful German farce "It's a Boy!" at the Strand Theatre and in "Take Two From One" at the Haymarket. Elma Reid excels in straight and light comedy röles. She possesses a fluent knowledge of French, in addition. of course, to the Scotch dialect, which she acquired as a cbild. Height five feet two inches, with fair hair and dark grey eyes. Ihre besondere Domäne sind komische Rollen. Elma Reid spricht fließend Französisch und beherrscht schottischen Dialekt. Minnie Rayner started her stage career as a child actress and has since played all kinds of parts in all types of plays, in London, Canada, the U. S., India, China, Japan, Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Burma, Malay States, France, etc. In fact, it would be almost easier to enumerate the countries in which she bas not played. Played important parts in silent films since the industry's inception and made her talkie debut as Mabel in Ivor Novello's "Symphony in Two Fiats", which she had previously played with Ivor Novello on the stage in London, Canada and the United States. Followed a number of other talkies, including "The Sleeping Cardinal" (Twickenham Studios), "These Charming People" (Paramount), "The Squeaker" ( Beaconsfield Studios) and "The Man at Six" and "Hobson's Choice" (British International Pictures), "Michael and Mary" and "The Adventures of the Missing Rembrandt". Minnie Rayner wagte sich schon als Kind in die Welt der Bretter hinaus und hat seither in den verschiedensten Stücken die verschiedensten Rollen gespielt, u. a. in London, Kanada, den Vereinigten Staaten, Indien, China, Japan, Afrika, Australien, Neu-Seeland, Frankreich — ja, es würde fast einfacher sein, die Länder zu nennen, in denen sie nicht gespielt hat. Beim stummen Film zählte sie zu den besten Schauspielerinnen; ihr Tonfilmdebüt machte sie als Mabel in Ivor Novellos ..Symphony in Two Fiats"; kurz zuvor war sie in der Bühnenversion dieses Stückes in London, Kanada und in den Vereinigten Staaten mit Ivor Novello als Partner erfolgreich gewesen. Mit einer Anzahl weiterer Tonfilme, z.
