C. reviews, both lyrics and niusic: went to America to understudy Noel Coward in "This Year of Grace", and played the part for five months. opposite Beatrice Lillie; returned to England and played in "Bitter Sweet" at His Majesty s for two years, dnring which time he also niade seven talkies, including "^oung Woodley", "The Call of the Sea", "The Man from Chicago*', "Bullrushes" and "Who Killed Cock Robin"; played in cabaret at the Carlton, Cafe Anglais, and Grosvenor House, and made a large number of gramophone records; partnered Mistinguette at the Casino de Paris, and made the French talking film "La Couturiere de Luneville" for Paramount at their Joinville Studios; returned to London to play the juvenile lead in "Bow Beils ; has hroadcast frequently in England and has written a large number of songs that have achieved considerable popularity, including, among othei-s, "Talking to Myself About \ou", "She is a Good, Good Girl", "My Description of You", "Would Yer", the theme song of Warner Brother s production "Call of the Sea" and "Je suis heureux"; also wrote "Fve Got a Man" and "Clap \our Hands" for Gracie Fields. Billy Milton trat zum erstenmal im März 1926 am Londoner Hippodrom als jugendlicher Bonvivant in .,Shake Your Feet" vor das Publikum und erhielt außerordentlich lobende Kritiken. Hierauf spielte er in ..Bow-Wows" am Prince of Wales und in „Will o" the Whispers" am Shaftesbun^-Theater. Er schrieb zu zwei B. B. C.Revuen Text und Musik, ging dann nach Amerika und übernahm die Rolle Noel Cowards in „This Year of Grace". Nach England zurückgekehrt, trat er zwei Jahre hindurch am His Majesty-Theater in „Bitter Sweet" auf und arbeitete während dieser Zeit an sieben Tonfilmen, u. a. „loung Woodley", „The Call of the Sea", „The Man from Chicago", „Bullrushes" und ..Who Killed Cock Robin" mit. Er trat im Carlton, Cafe Anglais und Grosvenor House auf. und außerdem wurde er durch zahlreiche Schallplatten bekannt. Im Casino de Paris war Billy Milton Partner der Mistinguette. Dann engagierte ihn die Paramount für ihren französischen Tonfilm „La Couturiere de Luneville". Hierauf kehrte der Künstler nach London zurück, um den jugendlichen Bonvivant in ..Bow Beils" zu übernehmen. Er war oft im englischen Rundfunk zu hören und schrieb viele, sehr populär gewordene Texte, u. a. : ..Talking to Myself About You", .,She is a Good, Good Girl". „W ould Yer", den Hauptschlager des Films „Call of the Sea" und .,Je suis heureux". ..Fve Got a Man" und „Clap Your Hands" für Gracie Fields.
