Riding, Ski-ing Born and educated at Bergen, Norway; at the age of eighteen years, made her first appearance on the concert platform, as a singer, in her native town; went to Oslo to continue her studies for another year before making her real professional debut, which was highly successful; foUowed a number of concert appearances, after which she made her stage debut in Oslo as Mimosa San in "The Geisha"; subsequently sang Mimi in "La Boheme" and the leading part in "Madame Butterfly", and spent further periods of study in Italy and Germany; early in 1931, scored a notable success in Norway in "The Violet from Montmartre", by Eugene Kaiman; later, returned to Berlin to continue her studies and was then invited by Sir Oswald Stoll to come to London for an audition; first London appearance at a benevolent concert at the Alhambra, as a result of which she received enthusiastic notices in the press; was then engaged by Sir Oswald Stoll to sing the part of Resi in "Waltzes from Vienna" at the Alhambra. Skilaufen Geboren und erzogen in Bergen in Norsvegen, betrat Borghild Bodom im Alter von achtzehn Jahren zum erstenmal als Sängerin das Konzertpodium ihrer Heimatstadt. Sie ging dann nach Oslo, wo sie ein weiteres Jahr studierte, bevor sie zum erstenmal mit großem Erfolg öffentlich auftrat. Sie gab noch mehrere Konzerte, wandte sich aber dann der Oper zu und debütierte in Oslo als Mimosa in „Geisha", sang dann die Mimi in der „Boheme", und die Titelrolle in „Madame Butterfly". In Italien und Deutschland setzte sie ihre Studien fort. Anfang 1931 holte sie sich in Norwegen einen großen Erfolg in Kaimans Operette „Das Veilchen vom Montmartre", kehrte dann zur Fortsetzung ihrer Studien nach Berlin zurück und mirde von Sir Oswald Stoll nach London eingeladen. Sie trat zuerst in einem Wohltätigkeitskonzert in der Alhambra auf und die Kritik spendete ihr begeistertes Lob.
