Recreation Hall was almost filled to overflowing. Empty seats showm in this photo were later filled by special guests. The crowds whicli lined up 2 hours before the doors opened numbered more than 2,000. Additional hundreds were turned avyay for lack of seats. The internationally-- famous singer, opened a 70-city transcontinental tour at Kohler (Wis.) Recreation Hall the night of Oct. 21 be- fore a capacity audience estimated to exceed 2,000 per- sons—the largest single audience in her long career. Hildegarde was assisted by her ovti orchestra under the baton of pianist-arranger, Salvatore Gioe.
