Hank Snow flew to the Coast Sunday (11) to begin two weeks of bookings on Monday (12) under Marty Landeau. WSM’s "Sunday Down South” guest schedule includes Lonzo Sc Oscar for Jan. 18 and Tex Ritter Feb. 1. JF Country Chatter Columbia’s Don Law in Dallas last week end for meetings with label’s talent to make plans for early recording work. The Maddox Bros. Sc Rose joined Columbia’s Marty Robbins set to start at WSM during this week. Robbins comes from Phoenix. “Ramblin’ Lou” Schriver of WJJL in Niagara Falls has the Wilma Lee Sc Stoney Cooper show from WWVA booked in local audi- torium for tvw> appearances Jan. 18. lvV Bob Martin domg a daily country record show from WMIL in Mil- waukee titled "Ranch House Roundup.” Martin recently moved from KBIS in Bakersfield, Calif. Jim Reeves has taken over the 11:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. spot onKWKH in Shreveport nightly. Reeves spins country records in this spot that heretofore has been assigned to pops. ' Country deejays are forming bands for personal work. J. C. Johnson of WGOV in Valdosta, Ga., has organized Tennessee Rangers group for appearance in addition to his four hours a day with country records. Bill Drake, who leads the KEEN (San Jose, Calif.)
