Cities will be rotated each week, with the 10 top-rated film shows listed in each and their competition shown opposite. All ratings are furnished by ARB, based on the latest reports. This VARIETY chart represents a gathering of all pertinent informa- tion about film in each market,which can be used by distributors, agencies, stations and clients as an aid in determining the effectiveness of a filmed show, in the specific market. Attention should be paid to time — day and time factors, since sets-in-Use and audience composition vary according to time Slot, i.e., a Saturday afternoon children’s show, with a low rating, may have a large Share and an audience composed largely of children, with cor- responding results for the sponsor aiming at the children’s market. Abbre- viations and symbols are as follows: (Adv.), adventure; (Ch), children’s; (Co), comedy; (Dr), drama; (Doc), documentary; (Mus), musical; (Myst), mystery; (Q), quiz; (Sp), sports; (W), western; (Worn), women’s. IS umbered symbols next to station call letters represent the sta- tion’s channel; all channels above 13 are VHF.
