VICTOR RECORDS Nomber .-5 <• %• Conway’s Band( Victor Military Bandf Gluck and Homer 88375112 3.00 JHydropaten Waltz (Gung’l) {u,'iih Bells) Espana — Waltz Hesitation (Waldteufel) Hymn of Praise — 1 Waited for the Lord HYMNS — Standard and Revival The extensive list of sacred music which the Victor has issued during the past few years has perhaps attracted more attention than any other single feature. This splendid catalogue of standard and gospel hymns, anthems and oratorio numbers is certain to have a powerful influence for good, not only in the homes of the seriousminded owners of Victors, but as a means of improving the quality of the music in small churches, where a competent choir is out of the question. The Victor’s sacred records are capable of filling admirably the place of a choir, and this form of service is much to be preferred to the average small choir, which sometimes inspires feelings the reverse of devout ! Victors are being utilized more and more in small communities in place of a precentor, and no better method of leading congregational singing could be imagined, while in the family circle a collection of hymns and other sacred music is indispensable for Sunday use. NOTE. — This hst coT^ains hymns only. For other sacred numbers, such as** Holy City.’* Palms,” ** Face to Face” and scnqs of that class, also Anthems and Masses for church use, see Sacred Songs. For Oratorio numbers see titles of Oratorios. For Negro Pevival Hymns see Fisk Jubilee Quartet.
