VICTOR RECORDS i Number ! ~ LAUDER, HARRY, Comedian The success of this popular Scottish comedian in America has been phenomenal, and he is decleued to be one of the greatest entertainers now before the public. To hear him sing his amusing songs and specialties, however, it is not necessary to visit the few cities where he appears, for the Victor now offers records of his best numbers. These records were recently made by Mr. Lauder at the Victor’s Camden Laboratory, and are so natural that the hearer will be simply astonished, every word and whisper being absolutely distinct. It is hard to define just what it is in Lauder’s work that makes him so popular. But the secret probably is that he is simply natural, and bubbles over with wit and melody because he can’t help it I Under the terms of Mr. Lauder’s new agreement, he will make no disc records of any l^ind except for the Victor. This is one of the most important engagements ever made by the Victor Company, Lauder being the highest salaried entertainer in the world. Perhaps the best evidence of Lauder’s value as an entertainer is the fact that he is, in vaudeville language, “booked solid’’ for the next eight years! Every week of the four hundred and sixteen is positively contracted for at a salary which, previous to Lauder’s en'ree, was never dreamed of by a vaudeville performer. NOTE. — In many of Lauder’s records he concludes by saying “ Good Night.” This expression in the Scotch dialect sounds very much like the slang term ” Get next.” Howeoer, it is ” Gude Nicht,” which the comedian is cordially saying I LAUDER RECORDS A wee Deoch an’ Doris Blarn^ Stone Bonnie Leezie Lindsay Bounding Bounder, or, “On the Bounding Sea” Breakfast in Bed on Sunday Mom Fu' th’ Noo He Was Very Kind to Me Hey I Dona!
