Mr. Dalmores has made a splendid success in America, and has proven one of the best French tenors heard in New York in many years.
This young artist was born at Nancy, France, in 1872, and made his début at Rouen in 1899—with such success that he was engaged for the Brussels Opera, where he sang Siegfried in the first production of the opera in French. His Brussels triumphs were repeated at Covent Garden, where he is a great favorite. He was brought to the United States in 1906 by Oscar Hammerstein, and his triumphs at the Manhattan in Don José, Samson, Hoffman, Romeo, Manrico and other roles are well remembered. With the closing of the Manhattan, Mr. Dalmores was engaged by the Philadelphia-Chicago Opera Company, in which organization he has repeated his great successes in Carmen and Samson, and has recently created a real sensation by his wonderful singing in Lohengrin and Walkiire, giving the latter opera in German.
Mr. Dalmores has just made for the Victor two splendid records of two favorite
numbers from Lohengrin and Samson, which have been in wide demand. DALMORES RECORDS (n French except as noted)
