Duming her three years with that company she achieved success as Carmen, Adina and Arline. In 1889 she went to London to fill an engagement at Covent Garden, and with such success that she has since remained in England, paying occasional visits to her native country for engagements at the Metropolitan. Mme. de Lussan’s Carmen was pronounced by the London critics to be a true and realistic character study, free from the faintest shade of coarseness or exaggeration, while her Mignon was a most refined and dainty impersonation.
