This splendid catalogue of standard and gospel hymns, anthems and oratono numbers is certain to havea powerful influence for good, not only in the homes of the serious-minded owners of Victors, but as a means of improving the quality of the music in small churches, where a competent choir is out of the question. The Victor's sacred records are capable of filling admirably the place of a choir, and this form of service is much to be preferred to the average small choir, which sometimes inspires feelings the reverse of devout ! Victors are being utilized more and more in small communities in place of a precentor, and no better method of leading congregational singing could b: imagined, while in the family circle a collection of hymns and other sacred music is indispensable for Sunday use.
