Herr Bachaus was born in Leipsic in 1884, and entered the Conservatoire at the age of ten, studying under Reckendorf and afterwards with d’Albert. His first public appearance, in 1900, was an overwhelming success, and his rendering of the works of Beethoven, Chopin, and Liszt were pronounced : ns BAC marvelous for a youth of sixteen.
