Coverage was described as most elaborate -for any event ever held in Washington, with some 35 cameras in use. All 3 networks presented nighttime specials. Coverage reportedly cost 3 networks more than $300,000, Coverage was relayed to Europe via Telstar n twice during the day from NBC— once for 23 -min. presentation, once for 30 min. No national rating figures were available at press time, but Nielsen measurements of N.
