LN AN ANN Na ee ANGUS MacCUNN More than one hundred close friends and associates gathered in the Empress Room of the Park Plaza Hotel in Toronto on Friday, April 25th to pay their respects to senior vice-president Angus MacCunn on his retirement. By coincidence Angus and wife Selina were celebrating their 38th wedding anniversary on that day, and were pleasantly surprised at the presence of their two daughters and husbands who came in for the occasion from Windsor and Ottawa. An anniversary cake was wheeled in and Mrs. MacCunn was presented with a beautiful bouquet of roses by Shirley Murray, Mac's secretary for over thirty years until her retirement two years ago. George Destounis introduced four of Angus closest friends, Rube Bolstad, Norman Robertson, Haskell Masters and Nat Taylor, each of whom sexcaspniimnadee TESTIMONIAL spoke briefly extolling Mac's many virtues and paying tribute to the tremendous contributions he had made not Only to Famous Players but the entire industry in Canada over the years. Our president then presented Angus MacCunn with a rare, original oil painting on behalf of the officers, directors and fellow employees. Angus responded with the dignified humour which is so much a part of him, recounting his experiences and the many close friendships he had formed during his forty six years with the company. He was particularly pleased to greet retired F.P.ers Bill Kerr, Harry Wallace and Fred Masters whom he hadn't seen for many years. The luncheon closed with a standing ovation for the MacCunns and best wishes from the assembly for long life and happiness in the years ahead.
