Mr. Gamble made his first appearance on the legitimate stage at the Zoo Theatre, in Indianapolis, in 1885, and after playing several seasons in repertoire in the East. came to the Coast in 1895 with "Ricketts Troubadors." After leaving the above company in Portland, Mr. Gamble came to San Francisco and played in stock until 1906, when he went into musical comedy and vaudeville until 1909, then went East in vaudeville and returned to the Coast in March, 1913, when he secured his first moving picture engagement with the Universal Film Company under the direction of Mr. Lucas. After leaving the Universal and being a short time with the Keystone Company, he joined Harry Pollard, opening with Beauty Films, American studio, Santa Barbara, Cal.
