HRANK E. MONTGOMERY. Began his stage experience at the age of fourteen, which life-work predominated up to seven years ago, when he joined the Selig forces. Being a lover of nature he was quick to perceive the possibilities of natural scenery in the new moving picture field. His more marked success began therefrom. Later, having joined the old Bison Company, he produced a long line of distinctly popular Western and Indian dramas, which have since become his specialty. He was one of the first to put on a two-reel picture, an act considered very daring by the more conservative of that period. Mr. Montgomery left the Bison to again join the Selig forces, thence producing for the Universal, leaving that company to produce independently for the Kalem Company, which added to the laurels rightly accorded by the public to the famous Mona Darkfeather brand. Mr. Montgomery now produces independently, having two companies, the Darkfeather two-part Indian drama brand and the popular Monty comedies, which productions are meeting with deserving success.
