HOOVER THOTO C ANITA KING. Born in Chicago, 111., in 1888. Her first appearance in theatricals was with Richard Golden in the production of "Common * Sense Brackett" in New York, touring for two seasons. After this engagement she left the stage and coming to Los Angeles became interested in the automobile business. Miss King is well known in social circles in Los Angeles and has the distinction of being the first woman to drive her own car in an automobile race, driving the Apperson Racer. She toured Mexico for two years in her machine for pleasure and study. She is an accomplished linguist, speaking Spanish, French and German fluently. In 1914 Miss King returned to her theatrical career, entering the motion pictures with the Lasky Feature Company, Los Angeles, Cal., where she is now playing leads with great success.
