HU CILLE YOUNGE. Born in Detroit. 1890. Always very fond of theatricals, Miss Younge took part in many amateur plays before making her professional debut with the Vaughan Glaser Stock Company of Detroit playing ingenue roles. Her next appearance was in vaudeville, where she was featured as Carmaletta in "A Son of the Desert." In 1911 she experienced her first engagement in moving pictures with the Thanhouser Company as leading woman, playing the role of "Hestor Prinn" in the "Scarlet Letter" and the title role in "The Temptress," under the direction of David Miles. Then followed a year's engagement with Imp Company playing leads opposite King Faggot, after which Miss Younge in 1912, accompanied by her mother, toured Europe and Africa on a pleasure trip. On her return to California in 1913 she accepted an engagement with the Majestic Reliance Company, playing leads opposite Wm. Garwood, under the direction of Jack O'Brien. She is now being featured as leading lady by the Lubin Western Company. Miss Younge is of the Spanish type, a beautiful dancer (Spanish and modern), a splendid horsewoman, very fond of all outdoor sports and extremely devoted to her mother, who is her constant companion.
