At the age of 16 she came to Los !, and one day when visiting the Biograph Company, which was then in Los Angeles for the winter season, she fell under the notice of Mr. D. "W. Griffith, who instantly perceived the possibilities in store for her. Miss Marsh made wonderful progress and in a few months won for herself an enviable reputation on the screen. In the display of strong tense emoticnal roles she has but a few equals. She first sprang into prominence when she appeared in the role of Mary in "Lands of O'Dee," and Lilly White in "Mans Gensis." "When Mr. Griffith became director-ln-chief to the Mutual Forces he promptly engaged Miss Marsh for his big feature productions. She appeared as Apple Pie Mary in "Home, Sweet Home" and played the role of Jenny Joyce in "The Escape." She also appeared in "The Clansman" and other of the big Griffith feature productions.
