I.ORII.I.ARD PHOTO DARRY G. KEENAN. Born in Richmond, Ind. Mr. Keenan, like most successful men, started at the lowest rung of the ladder and has today arrived at the point where he is considered one of the foremost in his profession. Started as an usher and before facing the footlights was made assistant treasurer in Hooley's (now Powers) Theatre, Chicago. In '97-*98 joined R. B. Mantells Company as juvenile, thence playing in stock in nearly all the largest cities in America with such notable stars as Mantell, Henrietta Crossman, Eugenia Blair, etc., etc., and in such productions as "Shepherd King," "Shenandoah," "Beverley of Graustark." Probably his biggest success on the legitimate stage was during his last season, playing the part of the priest in "The Rosary." Mr. Keenan is enthusiastic over the future offered in pictures, his biggest successes being The Gambler in "The Heart of a Gambler," whilst with the Essanay, and the part of Royal Northwest Mounted Police in photo plays "Out of the Night," and "Breed of the North," with the New York Motion Picture Company, where he is now engaged.
