HAMAR JOHNSTONE. Born in Fairfax, Va., 1886. First appeared in summer stock in Rome, Ga., in 1908, playing juvenile roles, after which Mr. Johnstone toured the south for two years with the Harrington Players, in repertoire. In 1910 he entered vaudeville in a musical comedy sketch, playing over the Orpheum circuit for one season. His first engagement in moving pictures was in 1911 with the Kalem Company of New York, afterwards joining the Eclair Company, Fort Lee, New York, playing leads for one year under the direction of Etienne Armand. In 1912, Mr. Johnstone came to Los Angeles and accepted an engagement with the Majestic Company, playing leads under the direction of Lucius Henderson, later joining the Selig Company, Edendale, Cal., where he is now playing leads.
