HOOVIH THOTO HRANC1S FORD. Born in Portland, Me., August 15, 1SS4. Following long engagements in stock in various towns Mr. Ford joined the original Nestor Company with Al Christie and Milton Fahrney — then to Melies Star Films as leading man and assistant director, afterwards becoming director. Leaving Melies he went to the New York Motion Picture Co. as director and leading man. producing some remarkable photoplays, portraying big battle scenes. Francib Ford then Avent to the Universal, producing and playing leads opposite Grace Cunard in the original 101 Bison Company. Some of his notable productions are "My Lady Raffles Series," playing Detective Kelly; and "Lucile Love" serial, featuring Grace Cunard. Mr. Ford is known as "The Director with a Heart," always trying to do something for the men and women under him so as to make their work easier and more congenial.
