Takes after his mother who, at the age of five, was playing the title role in Little Lord Fauntleroy. Jackie made his stage debut at the age of 2, when he escaped from his father's dressing-room and ran on to the stage, afterwards becoming part of the show. At 4I he made his screen debut in The Kid with Charlie Chaplin (FN. 1920). By the time he was 10 it was reported that he had made over £200,000. Visited London in 1924 and again in 1928, when he appeared with his father in a sketch at the Loudon Palladium. For a few years he was not seen on the screen but was iinisliing his education.
