Den Gedanken zu diesem Verfahren hatte Maxwell bereits 1855 der Royal Society in Edinburgh vorgelegt. B. Donath, Die Grundlagen der Farbenphotographie, Braunschweig 1906 S. 69. 1869, Abermalige Beschreibung des Verfahrens durch Ducos du Hauron. J. M. Eder, Geschichte der Photographie, 3. Aufl., Halle 1905 S. 438. 1888, Ausführung des Verfahrens durch den Amerikaner Fred. I v e s. 1898 bringt Ives eine praktische Vorrichtung zur Dreiteilung des Strahlenbündels heraus, welche die Dreifarbenprojektion mit Hilfe eines einzigen Projektionsapparates ermöglichte. Journal of the Franklin Institute 1889 S. 58. 1892, Leon V i d a 1 in Paris führt die Dreifarbenprojektion mittels dreier Apparate aus. 102
